Roma-Kessie silence after Juventus snub and Celik signing

🇮🇹 By 4All Football Editorial ·
After Juventus turned down the surprise signing of Celik, Roma appeared poised to reciprocate by targeting midfielder Franck Kessié, yet the Roman club has confirmed there has been no contact with the Ivorian or his agent Atangana, according to reports. The Ivorian made a name for himself at the World Cup, and a return to Serie A could be a real possibility for him. His performances have kept his name in transfer discussions, especially as Serie clubs look to add proven talent. Alfredo Pedullà the Roman club currently has no intention of focusing on the midfielder’s signing. The statement comes from the club’s own channels, emphasizing that the lack of interest is deliberate. To date there are no signs of a possible move: there have been no contacts with agent Atangana, and according to the journalist, there will never be any. Pedullà’s account leaves little room for speculation about negotiations. Roma intends to focus on other areas of the game, especially attack. The club’s transfer strategy this window targets forward positions rather than midfield reinforcements. In recent months, Kessié’s name had been linked to Roma following an attempt by Frederic Massara, an admirer of the midfielder who previously played for AC Milan. The director is now working to bring him to Juventus, shifting the focus away from the Roman side.
