Peter Vandenbempt trusts Onana’s commitment ahead of Senegal clash

🇧🇪

Belgium will meet Senegal on Wednesday evening in the World Cup round of 16, and Peter Vandenbempt says Amadou Onana will give his all despite earlier comments that suggested otherwise. The Red Devils consider the opponent reachable but not a walkover.

Amadou Onana was born in Dakar, the capital of Senegal, and holds both Belgian and Senegalese nationality. His birthplace ties him closely to the nation Belgium will face.

In a recent podcast, Onana said he would "rather lose to France" than play against Senegal, indicating a personal reluctance to face his birth country.

The World Cup round‑of‑16 match is scheduled for Wednesday evening, a stage that Belgium views as a challenging yet attainable hurdle.

Peter Vandenbempt told , "Ik mag ervan uitgaan dat Onana gewoon vol gas zal gaan voor de Rode Duivels," expressing confidence that Onana will go full throttle for the Red Devils.
