Manchester United the only club able to fund Vinicius Jr signing
Manchester United are reported as the only club capable of financing a summer signing of Real Madrid’s Brazilian winger Vinicius Jr, despite no fee being disclosed, as negotiations over his contract renewal stall. The talks have hit another roadblock just as they seemed to be progressing.
Vinicius Jr has long been a coveted target for European clubs, but only Manchester United possess the financial depth to meet the combined costs of a signing‑on bonus, transfer fee, commissions and the player’s salary. The club’s deep wallet and roster space make the Red Devils uniquely positioned to accommodate the pricey affair.
Real Madrid have made clear that the Brazilian’s future hinges on a renewal; with his contract expiring next June, the club prefers to either extend or see him leave rather than let him run down his deal and exit on a free transfer in 2027.
Having only one eligible suitor weakens Los Blancos’ negotiating position and represents a massive blow, as they risk losing the player without compensation if no agreement is reached.
For Manchester United, securing Vinicius would add a player of exceptional calibre to their ranks, aligning with their ambition to strengthen the squad this summer.
As of now the ball remains in Vinicius’ court, with the weeks following his return to Real Madrid expected to determine the final decision.
