Hoffenheim intensifies chase as Sauer eyes Germany move

🇩🇪 By 4All Football Editorial ·

Hoffenheim has placed a fresh bid on Feyenoord winger Leo Sauer, while the Dutch club watches the German interest alongside Sauer’s own desire for a new challenge. The contrast pits a relentless German pursuit against a Rotterdam side that still holds a long‑term contract on the 20‑year‑old.

Today at 10:27, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim submitted another offer for the Slovak left‑winger, a development reported by FR12. The bid arrives after a weekend of negotiations and signals that the Germans are not backing down.

The Duitsers continue to press for the Slowaak, and Sauer appears to have "ears" for a move to Germany. His openness suggests the German side’s persistence may soon find a receptive partner.

Earlier, a supporters’ website claimed Hoffenheim had already made “multiple offers” to free the Feyenoorder. Both Algemeen Dagblad and later confirmed the Bundesliga club’s keen interest in the Slowaak talent.

According to the reports, a transfer will only materialise when an “unrefusable offer” is on the table, implying that price and terms remain decisive factors.

Hoffenheim took the signal from technical director Dévy Rigaux seriously and delivered a new proposal to De Kuip. The exact height of the bid was not disclosed, but the German club’s intent is unmistakable.

Sauer himself is said to be taking the German interest seriously, believing that Hoffenheim can guarantee him regular playing time. The Germans have outlined a clear plan for the international’s development.

At Feyenoord, Sauer now has a fresh opportunity under Giovanni van Bronckhorst after a season marred by injuries under Robin van Persie. The Dutch side hopes the winger can rediscover form in the new regime.

The twenty‑year‑old remains under contract until the summer of 2028, meaning Feyenoord faces no immediate pressure to sell. The long‑term deal gives the club leverage in any future negotiations.

Transfermarkt values Sauer at seven million euros, and earlier Hoffenheim offers were reportedly above that market valuation. The financial gap underscores the challenge of reaching an “unrefusable” price.
