German giants eye Ajax's Bounida, but price remains a hurdle
Rayane Bounida, the Moroccan prodigy at Ajax, has attracted interest from German side Borussia Dortmund, according to transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri, but Ajax says any departure this summer will only happen if the German club meets the right price immediately.
Tavolieri reported that Bounida is currently on Dortmund’s radar. The Dutch club has not dismissed the possibility of a transfer.
According to Tavolieri, negotiations are ‘moving’ and the young creative is viewed as an ‘option’ for Borussia Dortmund. However, the Germans are prioritising other targets and must sell players before they can pursue Bounida.
Ajax is not opposed to the Moroccan leaving, but insists on a suitable fee. The Amsterdam side has not disclosed the amount it expects.
German giants eye Bounida as Ajax doubts his readiness to depart
The club’s stance is that Bounida will not be allowed to depart for a low transfer sum. A summer exit is not ruled out provided the price is right. Bounida joined Ajax from RSC Anderlecht’s youth academy in 2022. Anderlecht currently has no contact with the player regarding a possible return.Amsterdam awaits German keeper as Ajax' deal nears final step
His contract with Ajax runs until the summer of 2028, giving the Dutch club a long‑term hold on his services. This contractual situation strengthens Ajax’s negotiating position. A move will only materialise if Dortmund can clear its transfer priorities and meet Ajax’s valuation, signalling that the German club’s interest remains conditional.
