Cucurella teeters on a bold tattoo as Spain eyes World Cup final

🇪🇸 By 4All Football Editorial ·

Real Madrid defender Marc Cucurella is just one victory away from a permanent tribute: a full‑face tattoo of Spain coach Luis de la Fuente, a promise he made on the road to the WK and which will be fulfilled if Spain clinches the tournament in the Sunday final.

Cucurella announced the bet during the build‑up to the WK, stating he would immortalise his coach’s likeness on his skin should Spain emerge as champions.

Spain (Spanje) is scheduled to play the final on Sunday, meaning a single win could trigger the tattoo.

He also warned the design would not be a small piece, implying a prominent placement.

Cucurella has a track record of keeping such wagers; after Spain won Euro 2024 in Germany (EK), he dyed his hair completely red, fulfilling his earlier promise.

A victory over Argentina on Sunday would give him the green light to start searching for a tattoo artist.

The quirky pledge appears in VI.nl’s ‘Kantlijn’ column, where the outlet gathers unusual football stories, and the publication also promotes its World Cup 2026 guide and related subscriptions.
