€50‑60 million price tag stalls Bayern Munich’s Kounde pursuit

🇪🇸 By 4All Football Editorial ·
FC Barcelona have placed a €50‑60 million price tag on French defender Jules Kounde, signalling they will only consider offers that match this valuation, while Bayern Munich, valuing the right‑back at roughly €40 million, find the demand excessive, leaving the German club’s interest stalled. The Catalan side regard Kounde as one of the world’s premier right‑backs. He is also described as a cornerstone of Hansi Flick’s plans after a season that was salvaged by his World Cup performance. Bayern Munich have voiced tentative interest in the defender. The German club values him at around €40 million, a figure Barcelona deem insufficient. The €10‑million‑plus gap between Bayern’s valuation and Barcelona’s €50‑60 million asking price has stalled any serious pursuit by the German side. To date Barcelona have not received a formal offer for Kounde, only initial enquiries. Consequently, no active negotiations are underway between the two clubs. According to SPORT, Barcelona will listen to offers that reflect the French defender’s true market value. The club’s sporting department continues to rank him among the best right‑backs in world football. Barcelona also admire Tottenham right‑back Pedro Porro, whose World Cup displays have raised his profile. Porro recently signed a new contract with Tottenham, strengthening the English club’s negotiating position. Unless another club meets the €50‑60 million asking price, Kounde is expected to remain an important part of Hansi Flick’s squad. Barcelona remain under no pressure to sell, and Flick hopes the World Cup form will reappear when the defender joins training in the coming weeks. Photo credit: Juan Manuel Serrano Arce.
