Uncertainty clouds Mohamed Salah’s next move after Liverpool exit

🇬🇧 By 4AllFootball Editorial ·

Mohamed Salah has left Liverpool after nine years, with his future remaining unclear as his agent confirms no deal with Besiktas and says the player’s next club is still unknown. The 34‑year‑old forward, who made 442 appearances, scored 257 goals and provided 123 assists for the club, is now the subject of intense speculation across Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

Agent Ramy Abbas Issa moved quickly to shut down reports of a one‑year contract with Besiktas. He wrote, “I personally do not know where Mohamed will play next season. What does that tell you?” and added that the agency does not discuss clubs the player would not want to join. The latest transfer rumours were quickly addressed by his agent.

Turkish Super Lig interest is genuine, with Besiktas, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray all mentioned as potential destinations. This aligns with the recent ambition shown by clubs in that league to sign high‑profile players.

Clubs from Saudi Arabia have also been linked to the Egyptian forward, though reports of salary demands have complicated that route. The market therefore remains open, but no agreement has been reached.

Salah’s Liverpool record includes 442 appearances, 257 goals and 123 assists, an elite output over nearly a decade. He helped the club win two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the FA Cup, two EFL Cups and the Community Shield. His exit from Anfield came at the close of last season. The year after his departure, speculation intensified.

Individually, he earned four Premier League Golden Boots and was named PFA Player of the Year in 2018, 2022 and 2025. Whatever his next club, his place in Liverpool history is already secured, while his future remains uncertain for now.
