Rangers Agree £4.6m fee with Partizan for Vanja Dragojevic

🇬🇧 By 4AllFootball Editorial ·

Rangers are looking to plug the midfield void left by departing stalwarts, and the club sees Vanja Dragojevic’s deep‑lying playmaking as the ideal solution at Ibrox. The 20‑year‑old Serbian international offers the balance and creativity the side needs as they rebuild under Derek McInnes.

Rangers have agreed a £4.6m fee with Partizan Belgrade after an initial £3.8m bid was rejected. The improved offer was accepted, and the Black‑Whites retain a 10 per cent sell‑on clause on any future transfer. The move was reported by Mozzart Sport.

Dragojevic, a Serbian international, progressed through Altina Zemun and Partizan’s academy before a loan spell at Teleoptik. He returned to become vice‑captain in the 2025‑26 season, amassing 52 senior appearances, four goals and five assists as a deep‑lying playmaker.

Sporting director Radosav Petrovic said, “There are certain indications, and I believe that in the coming days we will have more concrete information. It is an offer for Vanja Dragojevic.”

Rangers already have a crowded midfield with Nicolas Raskin, Connor Barron, Mohamed Diomande and Tochi Chukwuani competing for places, while Bailey Rice is on loan at Kilmarnock. Out‑of‑favor duo Jose Cifuentes and Lyall Cameron are expected to leave, as the club eyes further reinforcements.

The Light Blues have added six new players, including Dan Neil and Cammy Devlin on Bosman deals after leaving Sunderland and Hearts. These arrivals form part of Derek McInnes’s squad overhaul, with additional departures anticipated in midfield.

Dragojevic’s physical dominance, aggressive tackling and technical ability as a number six will be tested in Scottish football, and his recent absence from Partizan’s pre‑season camp in Slovenia adds uncertainty to his integration at Ibrox.
