Juventus and Crystal Palace clash over Parma’s rising Argentine striker

🇬🇧 By 4AllFootball Editorial ·

Twenty‑four‑year‑old Argentine striker Mateo Pellegrino, who has lifted his Serie A scoring tally over the past season and a half, is being pursued by both Juventus and English side Crystal Palace, with the latter reportedly threatening a move as the Turin club readies a full‑throttle bid.

Juventus have emerged as a major candidate for the Argentine’s signature and are in direct contact with Parma to potentially iron out an agreement, with the club confirming that Juve are prepared to go full‑throttle in their pursuit.

Luciano Spalletti appears unconvinced by the form of Lois Openda and Jonathan David, prompting him to target Pellegrino as a first‑choice striker in Turin, a role the club intends to give him immediately.

Crystal Palace have also come forward for Pellegrino’s signature, offering the prospect of Europa League football next season as part of their bid to outbid the Italian side.

Despite the Eagles’ clear interest, the striker’s priority is Juventus, and he has indicated a preference for a move to Turin over a Premier League switch.

Parma’s situation has shifted after Dusan Vlahovic departed the club at the end of last month, and the main factor in any deal now revolves around the sell‑on percentage that Velez retain in his current contract.

If Juventus secure Pellegrino, he is set to become the first‑choice forward in Turin; at Crystal Palace, competition from Jean‑Philippe Mateta and Jorgen Strand Larsen could limit his playing time.
