Ipswich's €4 million pursuit of Van Oevelen sparks Premier push
Kyle Van Oevelen, 22, is set to join Ipswich Town on a long‑term deal after flying to England on Saturday, with the Premier League‑club agreeing a fee of roughly €4 million and a 10 % sell‑on clause, aiming to outpace Valencia, which had shown early interest.
The Engelsen from Engeland were eager to secure Van Oevelen quickly, hoping to bring him to their training camp on Monday, which added urgency to finalising the deal.
After rapid negotiations, the clubs reached an agreement for about €4 million, supplemented by a 10 % future transfer percentage.
If Van Oevelen completes all formalities on Saturday, De Volendam will pocket a lucrative sum, while the player achieves his desired move.
He will sign a long‑term contract at Portman Road, marking his first step into English football and the Premier League.
