Inter Milan chase WC hero Djed Spence as right‑flank fix looms

🇬🇧 By 4AllFootball Editorial ·

Inter Milan are prepared to sign Tottenham Hotspur full‑back Djed Spence for a fee that could rise to €35‑45 million, aiming to plug a right‑flank void after his WC heroics, following his standout performances in the tournament and his reputation for defensive tenacity.

Inter Milan have signalled they are ready to move for Tottenham Hotspur full‑back Djed Spence despite uncertainty over the exact fee. La dello Sport reported the Italian club’s interest even as the price tag may rise.

The 25‑year‑old’s WC campaign produced a dramatic rise in profile after England’s semi‑final in the United States. Against Argentina he impressed with a last‑ditch tackle on Giuliano Simeone and his ability to contain Leo Messi on the right flank.

Inter could be forced to exceed the €30 million figure initially expected if Spence delivers another notable performance against France in the bronze final. Recent debacles involving Marco Palestra and Anan Khalaili have pushed the minimum estimate to €35 million.

Even a €40–45 million range is still considered viable by the club, matching the player’s perceived value. The Italian side does not want another right‑sided target to slip away.

Inter’s plans on the right flank have already hit a snag, creating a clear need for a versatile defender. Spence’s ability to operate on either flank offers the tactical flexibility the Milan side seeks.

Beppe Marrotta is expected to negotiate a favourable agreement, giving Inter a head start in the pursuit. The club aims to finalise the deal before Premier League interest drives the price higher.

If the transfer materialises, Inter will secure the right‑sided option they lack while Spence will depart Tottenham amid growing Premier League attention.
