Inter and Como turn to Chelsea's Chalobah as Solet deal stalls

Chelsea centre‑back Trevoh Chalobah has attracted interest from Inter and Como after Udinese stalled negotiations for Oumar Solet, with the Italian club reportedly unwilling to meet Udinese’s €25 million asking price, according to multiple sources. The defender, who earns €1.6 million per season at Chelsea, could become a Serie A target as the summer transfer window stalls. Inter have already lost Marco Palestra to Chelsea and appear to be stepping back from a reported pursuit of Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones. The club’s recent setbacks have left them searching for alternatives. Negotiations for Oumar Solet have stalled, with Udinese insisting on a minimum €25 million fee, a sum Inter are reportedly unwilling to meet, especially as Atletico Madrid also monitors the defender. Transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano has reported that Inter are now turning towards Chalobah. Chalobah, who turns 27 next month, has been linked with a Serie A move on several occasions, yet no transfer has materialised so far. His career includes several loan spells away from Stamford Bridge before establishing himself in the first team. Recent Premier League action saw Chalobah warm‑up for the match against Brighton & Hove Albion on 21 April 2026 and feature against Burnley on 21 February 2026. Both appearances underline his continued involvement at the top level. An injury to Reece James has opened a place for Chalobah in England’s World Cup squad, and he is expected to start against Panama tonight. The England call‑up adds another dimension to his transfer prospects. If Inter decide to meet the fee, Chalobah could join the Italian side, though the exact terms remain unsettled. Both Inter and Como remain monitoring his situation closely.
