FA closes door on poaching probe into Yeovil's Billy Rowley

The Football Association confirmed there is no ongoing investigation into Yeovil Town FC or its staff after Walton and Hersham FC lodged a complaint alleging manager Billy Rowley tried to poach their players. The FA said insufficient evidence was received to justify further action.

Rowley took charge of Yeovil Town FC in November, arriving from Southern Premier League South side Walton and Hersham FC. His appointment followed the club's 16th‑place finish in the National League.

In mid‑May, Walton and Hersham FC accused Rowley of making repeated attempts to influence contracted players regarding their futures. The club announced it would forward a formal complaint to the FA.

An FA spokesperson told that there is no ongoing investigation into Yeovil Town FC or any of its staff. The governing body said it had not received sufficient evidence to launch a further inquiry.

In the weeks after the accusations, Yeovil Town FC signed winger Mason Obeng from Walton and Hersham FC. Midfielder Johl Powell also joined the club from the same side.

Walton and Hersham FC secured promotion to the National League South during the same period. Their ascent came after a successful campaign in the Southern Premier League South.

The FA's decision leaves the matter closed for now, with no further action expected. Both clubs will continue their respective campaigns in their current divisions.
