Napoli's €15m bid clashes with Union's €23m price tag for Khalaili

🇧🇪

Napoli have reiterated their intent to sign Anan Khalaili, stating they are more than ever ready to welcome the Israeli winger. The club’s hierarchy has returned to the attack in recent hours after courting the player openly for several weeks.

Interest is not limited to Italy; Tottenham was cited in early June as a potential suitor, while Inter Milan has also entered the race, who arrived at Union Saint‑Gilloise from Maccabi Haifa as a true winger, was not a starter before winter in his first season at the Parc Duden. Under coach Sebastien Pocognoli he has improved, notably delivering a double against Olympique de Marseille in the Champions League.

Italian journalist Nicolo Schira Napoli have reached a principle agreement with Khalaili for a contract running to 2031, with a salary estimated at €1.5 million per year.

Union Saint‑Gilloise hold a strong negotiating position, with Khalaili’s current contract extending to June 2028 and the club enjoying solid financial health. Transfermarkt values the player at €23 million, a figure that could allow Union to break its record outgoing fee, previously set by Franjo Ivanovic at €22.80 million when Benfica paid that amount last summer.

A formal €15 million offer from Napoli is expected to be placed on Union’s board, but the sum falls short of the €23 million valuation and may not satisfy the Belgian side’s demands.

The contrast between Napoli’s modest bid and Union’s high price tag underscores a looming negotiation battle, with the next step likely a counter‑proposal from the Belgian club as it seeks to maximise its return.
