Massimiliano Allegri Nears Napoli Move Pending Milan Settlement

Massimiliano Allegri is close to joining Napoli as head coach, but a settlement with AC Milan over his contract remains pending. Aurelio De Laurentiis has identified Allegri as his preferred successor to Antonio Conte.

A multi-year agreement between Allegri and Napoli has been agreed in principle. Allegri remains under contract with AC Milan after his dismissal at the end of the season and continues to receive his salary.

Giovanni Branchini, Allegri's agent, has made cautious public comments while contacts between Napoli and Milan continue. The parties are working toward a mutual termination that is likely to involve a financial settlement.
