Dieter Hecking Becomes Wolfsburg’s New Managing Director Sport

Dieter Hecking will give up his coaching role at Wolfsburg. He will assume the position of Managing Director Sport from the beginning of June.

The 61‑year‑old Hecking’s departure from the touchline has been confirmed by the club. The announcement was made as part of the club’s official communication.

Wolfsburg, known as the Wolves, will embark on a rebuild after relegation from the Bundesliga. The new sporting director will oversee the restructuring effort.

The club prepares for its first season outside the top flight under Hecking’s leadership. The club indicated Hecking will take a central role in the rebuild.
