Schalke 04's pursuit of Belgian striker Trevisan intensifies

Belgian striker Jelani Dumas Trevisan is being linked with a move from SL Benfica to German side Schalke 04, while clubs from France and Italy are also monitoring his situation. Currently playing for Benfica B, Trevisan has featured in 27 matches, scored seven goals and recorded one assist, statistics that have heightened his profile among suitors.

Trevisan was developed at Standard de Liège before spending a season with the youth teams of La Gantoise. He then joined SL Benfica, a move described as promising but which did not see him break into the first‑team lineup.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Trevisan wishes to leave Benfica to reach a new career milestone. Schalke 04 has already initiated discussions with his representatives about a potential transfer.

Schalke 04, currently competing in Germany's second division, aims to restore its status among the Bundesliga's leading clubs. The team is coached by Miron Muslic, who previously managed Cercle de Bruges.

For Belgian fans, Schalke 04 is linked to former national team star Marc Wilmots, who won the 1997 UEFA Cup and the 2002 German Cup with the club. Tavolieri notes that French and Italian clubs remain interested, though no specific names have emerged.

Should the deal be completed, the Belgo‑Portuguese forward would experience football at a historic German institution, offering a platform to develop in a demanding competition. Schalke 04's supporters are known for their exceptional backing, which could provide Trevisan with a strong environment for growth.
