Real Betis eyes midfield void, targets Ceballos and García

🇪🇸

Real Betis have opened negotiations with Real Madrid, aiming to fill a midfield gap after Dani Ceballos terminated his contract in the Spanish capital, while also targeting left‑back Fran García, for whom Madrid set a €20 million price tag that left the Andalusian club stunned but still hopeful.

Real Betis see Dani Ceballos as the ideal solution to reinforce their midfield, hoping to return the midfielder to the club where he began his career. The Spanish international also appears on Ajax’s transfer list, indicating interest from multiple sides.

Ceballos’s contract with Real Madrid was dissolved earlier this week, leaving him free to negotiate with any club. The termination clears the way for Betis to pursue a direct signing without a transfer fee.

In addition to the midfielder, Betis have set their sights on left‑back Fran García, another Real Madrid player. García’s defensive versatility would address the Andalusian side’s need for depth on the flank.

Real Madrid have stipulated a €20 million price tag for García, a figure that surprised Betis officials. The demand reflects Madrid’s valuation of the 22‑year‑old’s potential.

The €20 million ask left Betis shocked, yet the club has not abandoned the pursuit. Betis officials indicated that negotiations will continue despite the steep cost.

Sergio Valentín reported that the Andalusian side will now weigh the financial implications before making a final offer. The outcome hinges on whether Betis can bridge the valuation gap with Madrid.
