Liverpool secures Szoboszlai with €70m‑backed long‑term deal

🇬🇧 By 4All Football Editorial ·

Hungarian (Hongaarse) midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has signed a new contract with Liverpool, extending his stay until mid‑2031 after the club originally paid €70 million to bring him from RB Leipzig in the 2023 summer window. The 25‑year‑old, who has made 147 appearances, scoring 28 goals and providing 26 assists, will now be tied to the Reds for another five years.

The club confirmed the deal through its official channels today (Vandaag) at 17:12. The announcement was posted on Liverpool’s website and social‑media platforms.

The new contract runs until mid‑2031, extending Szoboszlai’s stay by five years. His previous deal was set to expire in mid‑2028 before being terminated early.

“There is always more to come. I am never satisfied,” the 25‑year‑old said, adding that he wants to win everything, including the Champions League. He reiterated his ambition to set an example for the squad.

Liverpool originally paid €70 million to acquire the Hungarian (Hongaar) midfielder from RB Leipzig in the 2023 summer transfer window.

Since joining, Szoboszlai has featured in 147 matches, netting 28 goals and delivering 26 assists.

Transfermarkt values him at €100 million, indicating his market worth exceeds the original fee.

The long‑term deal reflects the Reds’ strategy of securing key assets amid a market where top talents command seven‑figure sums and extended contracts.
