Injury doubts loom for Hibernian as they head to Kosovo without Cadden
Hibernian travel to Kosovo for Thursday’s Conference League second‑qualifying tie against Malisheva without winger Nicky Cadden, who is sidelined with a calf injury, while midfielder Jamie McGrath remains a doubt but could be fit in time, head coach David Gray confirmed.
David Gray said the two absentees are his only injury concerns following Hibernian’s 2‑1 victory over Brondby on Saturday at Easter Road.
The win over Brondby was the final pre‑season friendly and the last warm‑up before the Conference League tie.
Midfielder Callum Wright, the summer signing from Plymouth Argyle, was forced off before half‑time after feeling a slight thigh issue that Gray described as possibly fatigue‑related tightness.
Wright had also missed early pre‑season training after a toe injury.
Forward Boyle left the Brondby game after late contact.
Gray confirmed that both Cadden and McGrath missed that match because of calf problems.
Cadden’s calf injury will keep him out for a few weeks, delaying his return.
McGrath, however, is expected to be back within days rather than weeks, offering a more positive outlook.
Nathan Lowe, the on‑loan Stoke City striker, scored both Hibs goals against Brondby, and Gray praised Lowe’s all‑round play as an excellent exercise against a strong opponent.
