Michael Olise scores hat-trick as France beat Northern Ireland

Michael Olise scored three goals as France defeated Northern Ireland 3-1 in a friendly in Lille on Monday.

France lined up Maignan, Koundé, Upamecano, Saliba, Theo Hernández, Tchouaméni, Rabiot, Olise, Dembélé, Mbappé and Doué after the defeat to Ivory Coast. Saliba, Dembélé and Doué had been rested in the loss to the Elephants.

Olise reached 27 goals for Bayern and France this season and added 28 assists, bringing his direct contributions to 55 since August.

Northern Ireland, ranked 70th, are rebuilding with fifteen players aged 22 or younger. Patrick Kelly pulled one back in the 64th minute. France remain in World Cup Group I and will open the tournament against Senegal.
