🇩🇪 29 May 2026

Germany’s national team assembled in Herzogenaurach today to launch their 2026 FIFA World Cup preparation in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Bundestrainer Julian Nagelsmann and Sportdirektor Rudi Völler held a press conference starting at 14:30 local time.

Nagelsmann emphasized unity, stating he wants the DFB squad to function as “one family.” Völler added that the camp will focus on building cohesion ahead of the tournament.

The squad’s first session included physical assessments and tactical introductions. Players arrived individually ahead of the joint training schedule.

Germany will play three warm-up matches in March 2026 before the World Cup. The squad will stay in Herzogenaurach through Friday.

The press conference covered logistical details and expectations for the new cycle. Nagelsmann reiterated the importance of collective responsibility.

Völler highlighted the need for adaptability given the expanded 2026 format with 48 teams.
